Last song of the 2024 tour.
Last song of the 2024 tour.
(Members Of) Swell, live @ Café Café, Hasselt – 26.05.2024 – video
Goede zaal, perfecte klank. De video brengt met Love You All, Get High, Down en Bridgette vier Swell-klassiekers in beeld.

(Members Of) SWELL – Rehearsing @ Partymakers, Gent… 19/20.05.2024
Telkens in kleinere clubs.
In drie verschillende versies.

(Members Of) Swell on tour 2004
A year after the successful reunion tour, Californian lo-fi band Swell is making another visit to Europe. And not at full strength because only drummer Sean Kirkpatrick and John Dettman-Lytle (vocals/guitar), i.e. half of the lineup, is making the crossing to undertake a small-scale club tour.
The duo is joined by bassist Tim Adams, also a veteran of many musical wars, who was briefly part of Swell in the early nineties. On the band’s self-titled debut (1990), he’s heard on one song – Sick Half Of A Church. After Swell, he ran the independent Ajax Records in Chicago for several years.
The upcoming European tour is limited to four dates in Belgium and as many in France. Smaller clubs only. A conscious choice as the format is a (semi-)acoustic set that does best in an intimate setting. The tour starts in Lille (‘France) and concludes 9 days later in Belgium’s equivalent to CBGBs, better known as Music Center Kinky Star (Ghent).
On the playlist: the very best of the Swell catalog and some songs from The World Is Haunted, Sean Kirkpatrick’s project since a few years. Showcasing that project and promoting the re-release of Swell’s successful album 41 are the driving forces behind the tour. The album is being reissued this month, exactly thirty years after its (first) release, by the French independent Talitres. In three different versions. The vinyl can be purchased via Bandcamp or directly from the band.
